Our story.

Lorenzo and I (Isabella) met at a post-grad fellowship in Pennsylvania. During the semester-long fellowship, I attempted to introduce all my friends to “boba”, but was disappointed by the lack of quality milk tea in Philadelphia and other cities that we travelled to together. As a Bay Area native, the ubiquitous presence of good boba shops was something I took for granted – and something I sorely missed when I was away from home.

Fast forward to summer 2022, when we first lived in Harrisonburg for Lorenzo’s internship. I was really excited to try the boba options in town, but greatly disappointed by all of them. At this point, I was consistently making boba for myself (and friends) a few times a week at home, and started dreaming about opening my own boba business one day.

Boba Cowboy launched as a pop-up in October 2025 and as a food truck in August 2026. This small business is a dream come true, and we are so thankful to everyone who has cheered us along the way. We are especially excited for our new downtown location, opening November 2026!
